Minneapolis, Jan, 29. Mrs. Agnei
Omer, said to have been a trained
nurse in Minneapolis until she went
to Texas seven years ago, has lost
a five year fight for her liberty and
must go to the Texas penitential y
for life for the alleged murder of her
own daughter, according to a dia
patch received from Austin Tex.
The crime of which she was accused
was committed February 19, 1911. She
was arrested, tried and convicted, but
the Court of Criminal Appeals rever
sed the decision of. the lower court
und a new trial was ordered. Four
trials in different Texas cities ensuad
in all of which tha juries disagreed.
The sixth and final trial took place
in El Pase recently and resulted in
Honvictipn. The sentence has been
affirmed by the Criminal Court of
Appeals.
Mrs. Orner met Ornor soon aftar
going to Texas. He died a few
months before his daughter. A chem
ical analysis of the exhumed bodies
showed poison in both, according to
chemists. Mrs. Orner's expenses in
the trails were borne, it is said, by
a Minneapolis Swedish society, but
officers of hwedish societies here
and nurses dented knowledge of the
case.
