Mrs. Ella Ryneairson sustained a 1
very painful injury by being burned
on the hand. The accident was caused
by a fall near the stove against which
her hand was thrust. There was also
a slight burn on the face which also
came in contact with the hot stove
in the fall. The bums while painful
are not serious,

C. R. Hibberd has received word of
the death of his father, John Hibberd,
which occurred at his home in Shelton,
Nebraska, a few days ago. On ac
count of having been summoned to
Portland as a witness in the federal
court Mr. Hilberd was not able to
be present with his father during his
final illness.

A. B. Conley, who has been consid
erably under the weather the past few
weeks with grip apd other complica
tions, was able to be out and down
town a while yesterday. This Is the
first time he has ventured from home
in three weeks, but his condition is
now rapidly improving.
(Mrs. G. U. Biggers is suffering with
a burned wrist as the result of pilling
hot laird on the member. For tho
present she is unable to use her hand,
and undergoes considerable pain.
School Superintendent A. E. Ivan
hoe went to Union today, having re
ceived an invitation to attend a high
school entertainment which takes
place this evening.
An old fashioned "taffy-pull" party
will he held at the Lutheran parsonage
tonight at eight o'clock. Each lady
will bring a cup of sugar for tho
taffy and everybody will help furnish
the muscle for the "pull." In addition
to the games a musical program has
been arranged. A hearty good time
is looked forward to by those respons
ible for the arrangements. All are
invited.
