tf. Hogs were firm at $8 for tops in
"the North Portland yards - at the
opening of the-week's trade. There
was a' rather heavy run over Sunday,
(totals being 2855 head compared with
1976 a week ago and 1241 a year ago.
i (General swine market conditions
throughout the country "were favor-
pole today,' leading points showing
an advance of 5c over Saturday.
General cattle; market conditions
are reflecting a much steadier tone us
a result of the heavy cut in offerings
during the last week. .This has given
killers a good chance to clean up.,
Only a very small supply of mut
ton put in appearance in the North
Portland yards over Sunday. . Totals
were but 365 head compared with
1175 last Monday and 1411 head this
same day a year ago. -'
