Most of the teachers from in and
around Imblor attended the local in
stitute at Elgin Saturday and all
seemed well pleased with the pro
pram. In fact,' most teachers' real

and take" meeting than from the
Eastern Oregon annua meeting.

Mrs. W. V. Connor, who spent the'
previous week visiting in La Grande,

Jeff Bell enjoyed the novelty of a
smashup while making a motorcyrle
trip to La Grande lose week. Luckily
the machine received ti.e bulk of the
damage and Mr. Bell was practically
uninjured. The motorcycle had to
be helped into town.
Gladys McFerran, who has been
confined to her home several weeks
with whooping cough and bronchitis,
is entirely recovered and has return
ed to school.
The Epworth league service Sun
day evening was well attended. Miss
Edna Martin was the leader. Mr.
Wilson's quartet furnished a vocal
election as part of the service.
Among the visitors at the Imbler
Hotel during the past week were tho

D. Broughton and H. J. Battles of
Paradise, and John' Johnson, of La'
Grande, the last named being called ,
