action so much more important is the fact that the importation of French
kid gloves is almost entirely out off by the present European conflict. The

prospecta of tho removal of the O.-W.
K. c N. division point from Umatilla
and of the consequent decrease in
business there, the First Bank of Uma
tilla, by a vote of the shareholders,
has been dissolved. The liquidation
will take .place next Tuesday, January
28, according to W. L. Thomnson.

to eighth grade pupils In the county
schools by the examining board who
finished the work of grading the ex
amination papers Saturday.- Of this
number the La Grande district leads
with 15 graduates from the common
school, Union is second with seven
