Mrs. Vandecar Attempts to annul
Marriage Relations.
Last week Mrs. Ada D. Vandecar
brought suit in the Baker courts for
a divorce from her husband, Sanford
Vandecar. B. Vandecar and Nettie
Fearson (son and daughter of S. Van
decar, and the Farmers Bank of
North Powder are also named as de
fendants in the suit says the North
Powder News. It is alleged Mr.
Vandecar has given his children
money obtained from the sale of
pioperty belonging to the plaintiff.
The bank is named because of a suit
against Mr. Vandecar, which inter
feres with plaintiff's rights.
Mrs. Vandecar asks the court for
a decree of divorce, restitution of
money and property due her, $30 a
lvonth alimony, and "an order prohib
iting the hearing af the case of the
bank until after the settlement of
her suit

Si cups sifted pastry flour; H level
tcaspoonfuls K V Making
Powder; J teaspoonfulsalt;
i cup shortening; about J
cup milk; butter; S baskets
strawberries;between land
S cups granulated sugar ; I
cup or more double cream.
Hull, wash and drain the berries reserve
a few choice berries to garnish the top of the
cake j cut the rest in halves and mix with the
sugar. Beat the cream and set aside to chill.
Sift together, three times, the flour, baking
powder and salt; work in the shortening)
then mix to a soft dough with the milk.
Spread the mixture in two layer cake pans.
Bake about twenty minutes. Turn one cake
out on a hot plate, spread liberally with
butter, pour on part of the berries) cover
with the second cake, also spread with but
ter, pour over the rest of the berries and put
the whipped cream above, with the whole
berries here and there.
