"The road from Jerusalem down to
Jcrico" is to be the subject of a free
illustrated address at the Methodist
church Sunday night May 24. Prof.
J. B. Horner, who holds the chair of
history at O. A. C, and who helped
make the brick used in in the con
struction of Blue Mountain universi
ty buildings in La Grande, will show
over 100 pictures of the very road
from Jerusalem down to Jerico, taken
by Mr. Horner himself. He started
out wjth a camera and followed the
very roads tra'veled by Christ. What
the camera saw will be shown on the
screen on that occasion.

Very little business was transacted
at the adjourned meeting of the coun
cil last Saturday night. The petition

nance regulating stock breeding was
given its final reading and was pass
ed, and the matter of extending the
pipe line to the west part of town
was considered This was finally de

instructed to get bids on the work of
digging and filling in 600 feet of
ditch 20 inches deep and a foot wide
at the bottom. There were five bid
ders, the bid of Lee Morelock of 115c
per foot being the lowest. Work was
started at once, and there should be
a supply of water for the people of
this section in the very near future-
