ting pretty well through putting in
their crops.
J. A. Bookout who has been sick for
some time with heart trouble is able
to be up and around his home, but is
still weak.
Mr. Will Laird is confined to his.
home this week with lagrippe.
Mr. Harry Richards came home
Saturday from Imnnha where he has
been for the last two months helping
Mr. McCoy through lambing. I
D. D. Brock was visiting at the
home of his aunt Mrs. James Day
last Sunday. Mrs. Day lias been sick
foor some time.
Mr. and Mrs. John Bookout, Mr.
and Mrs. William Bookout, Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Wagner, Mr. and Mrs.
Hugh Laird, Mr. Lon Davis and Mr.
Payne were all to see J. A. Bookout
Sunday, who is ill with heart trouble.
The Alder ball team played with
Hurricane Crock Sunday, the score
8 to 1G in favor of Alder.
Rev. Self of Lostine. gave a
lecture at the Hurricane Creek schopl
licuse Friday night, May ist. A large
crowd was present
Mr. Geo. Brock attended Sunday
school at Alder Sunday.
A number of the young people
from the slope attended preaching
service at the Baptist Church i:i En
terprise Sunday evening.
School closed at the Reavis district
last Friday, of which Miss Sylvia
Graves, of Joseph was teacher, and
Friday evening a fine program was
rendered and an ice cream social was
given after the social games were
played and all report a jolly good
time.
Miss Marly Braughton closed a very
successful term of school at Alder
April 15th, and returned to her homo
at Paradise last Sunday, April (.
Rev Henry Martin, of Joseph,
lipreached at Alder Sunday, Mrs.
Martin nccompnnied him.
Mr. Frank Ellis is working at the
Enterprise Livery Stable.
Mr. and Mrs. Everett StubblcfieM
have sold their ranch at Paradise nAl
Hro moving bnck to the slope. Mrs.
Stubbleficld is now stopping at the
home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
James Kooch, while Mr. Stubblefield
is moving in their household goods.
