WILL HEAR SERMON.
Lecture Course for Non-Catholics Is
Planned for After Easter Week.
Each night Father Brady has been
speaking to a Urge audience. As the
seriel course of moral sermons draws
to a close one begins to see the full
importance of a set of sermons such
as these. The entire week has been
devoted to men, but there has each
night been a sprinkling of women who
had not the time or opportunity last
week to attend the series of sermons
Tonight Father Brady is going to
deliver a special sermon to men and
. bovs above lfl vpai- nf aita - Tjtcf
Friday's lecture for women only
j brought out some w)iVome truths
and no doubt has done a great deal of
good,' at least such is the verdict of
the women who heard the matrly
discourse.
The sermon is going to be fraught
with an abundance of wholesome ad
vice and naked truths for men, and
I will no doubt be well attended. All
! men are invited, both Catholic and
j non-Catholic- ' f
. He likewise announces that one
i week after Easter he would deliver a
I" f eries of eight lectures on Catholic
I teaching for non-Catholics, exponding
8' some of the more important doctrines
of the mother church f qr the benefit
' of fairminded persons who desire tn
! Vnow more of tho faith and to be able
I-' compare Its teachings with those
of other churches. In speaking of
these lectures the able missionary de
clared that he would cot speak of the
doctrines of other churches, nor
I ! would he allow himself to injure the
feelings of any person in the audience
nor attempt to make conversions. If
any person chose to do that, it rested
with him entirely. The main object
of the speaker will be to attempt to
stave off an increasing wave of ill
feeling and unfounded prejudice
against the faith because of its at
tacks on certain things in society
which die Catholic Church is fighting.
The list of lectures will be published
later, but it may be mentioned that
it includes "the confessional, "Holy
Eucharist, "That church which is
the true church must be the infallible
church," a strong dissertation on
"matrimony, and "the divinity of
Christ " In addition to the sermon
each night he will answer all fair
minded questions about the church.
i A box will be placed at the rear of
i the church into which these questions,
signed by the questioner, can be
: placed. No name will be divulged,
but this precaution is taken to guard
: against certain happenings in the ex
perience of the missionary which have
' led to disagreeable community squab
: ble. Everything is done to avoid
; giving offense. The entire city is in-
j vited to this course of lectures.
iNext Sunday night the mission
closes with a dogmatic dissertation on
on "the Virginal Birth of Christ."
This sermon belongs properly to the
lecturers to be delivered a week after
! Easter but is given by request and
will indicate the manner of the
j lectures that are to follow.

If you are building this year specify elec
tric lights. It is safe to say that SO per
cent of the houses built in La Grande this
year will install them. No home is modern
without them. They are as important as
sanitary plumbing.
Good lights are equally important, how
ever, if you happen to live in a rented
house. Your landlord owes it to you, and
you ewe it to yourself to have nothing but
the best light. EV-tric lights are easily
instated and will prove a source of lasting
satisfaction to you. Call or phone Main 3-t.
