UNION HIGH SCHOOL WINS OVEK
COVE TEAM.
News Mention of Various Descrip
tions Prom Town of Union.
Union, Jun. 12. (Special.) The
pleasure-loving people of Union had
the opportunity of witnessing a good
game of basketball between the Union
high school team and a picked team
of athletes from Cove at the Yorga
son hall Friday evening. The Cove
players was far heavier and larger
than the Union team but the Cove
players were outclassed from the very
beginning. They put up u good game
but were beaten by a ecore of 35 to
9. Ham of Union was hurt in the
game and was replaced by Jones. The
Covo team got two field goals while
the Union boys got several. Erhman
Hall was referee for Union and did
his work in a fair way. He gave
his decisions impartially but did not
allow his home team to be bullied.
Quite a large crowd attended the
game. The Union boys are rather
proud of their victory over a picked
team. . t.
