The derailment was the result of
the rolling and swinging motion on
the part of the locomotive, sufficient
to spread the rails, first to one side
and then on the other at intervals
of thirty-five feet and for a distance
of approximately 450 feet before
rails spread sufficiently to cause de
railment. No individual responsi
