received a teacher's certificate in the
Palmer method of penmanship, which
entitles her to teach in any state in
the union. Miss Peare has taken her
course in the Sacred Heart academy
of this city, and a couple of years
ago became quite proficient in the art
of making fancy scrolls. She won
her certificate then and since has been
taking the higher methods and devot
ing time and study to' perfection of

teacher, Miss Jones, was in the city
attending teachers' institute two or

examination and submitted work for
an examination from Mr. Palmer, who
