Asylum Escapes Total Seven. '
Salem, Ore., Aug. 13. -Seven in
mates of the insane asylum have es
caped from the institution within one
week, the last to get away being Oscar
Olligaien, W. ' Rogers and' James
Treadwell, who had liberties under the
parole system. Four of the men who
escaped were addicted to the use of
morphine and. were sent here from J

Model Convict Freed. -Salem,
Ore., Aug. 13. "Good bye,
boys: I'm going; good luck to you,"
said Charles Slegle, for years known
by keepers and prisoners alike as "Or
egon's model convict," as he left the
mess hall and walked into the office

left if we ever wanted him just to
send for him. He went from here to
