The county W. C. T. U. will convene
at Joseph, Thursday, June 19, at which
Ada Wallace Unruh. state president
of theTemperance Union, will be pres
em, mrs. w. w. While, this citv
will read a paper entitled, "The Needs
of the Field." Mrs. Rogers will also
give a short talk on "Organized Tem
perance Work a Necessltv.". :A larere
attendance from all towns in ,the val
ley is assured, and each one will be
represented by three or more women.

ciency of the work of the Temperance

Rev. W. P. Samnis has sold his resi
dence on Second North St., to Michael
Stubblefield. It occupies one of the
most desired locations in Enterurise.

The work of the shearing plants in
wauowa county is almost finished
Thousands of sheep are now ready to
be taken to summer pastures. The
LiWh, Johnson, Ray Vest and Pete
Beandoin plants have probably shear
ed the greater quantity of sheep be
tween two and four thousand a dav.

connected with their operation is on

ation has held a great attraction for

Miss Fay Wade who has been visit

Reavis, for the past few weeks, re
turned to her home on Alder Slope,
Wednesday. '
W. H. Graves returned "Wednesday
from a short business trip to Durkey,
Oregon.
Mrs. AI Emnons is seriously ill at
her home on North street. Mr. Em
nons was hurriedly summoned from
Elgin and will arrive on today's
train.
E. W. Steel has gone to Vancouver,
Wash., for a short visit with his
mother, -Mrs. Elva V. Steel.
G. S. Reavis returned Tuesday from
the funeral of his brother, William,
which was conducted in Portland Sun
day atfernoon. The deceased was one
of the early residents of the county,
and his father, Judge Reavis, who Is
still living, was a leading spirit in all
pubfic affairs in the early days. ' :,
Jonathan Haas and family of Alder
were Enterprise visitors the first of
the week.',
W. W. White has Just completed re
painting and altering his town house.
