Walla Walla, April 30. (Special)
La Grande, tail ender in the league
last year, took awfuT revenge on
Walla Walla yesterday, beating her
five to two. Kelly the Bear hurler
was touched for fifteen singles and
bunched at that Jamison, the Ore
gon University liurler, struck out the
first six men and got 15 all told.
Also he got three hits.
Walla Walla scored Brown in the
third. He walked and came home on
Harmon's double. In the fourth
Luridstrom hit a homer.
La Grande's scores came as fol
lows: In the third Jamison and Cor
bin singled, both scoring on Nadeau's
single. : ' ,
In the fourth Lind walked, took sec
ond and scored on Jamison's single.
In the fifth,' Nadeaa singled, stole
second and scored on Van Horsts single.
In the seventh, Luttrell go on first
on an error, stole second, went third
on Nadeau's hit, both advanced on
fielders' choice and Luttrell scored
on King's single.
Martini, Walla Walla's-left fielder,
made two sensational pegs, stopping
two men, one at second, one at home.
Spuds Not "Reefers."
The La Grande players, who ac
cording to North Yakima ' reports,
did considerable "beefing" showed up
entirely diffe'ent here; They caused
not the slightest disturbance' and
made a good impression.
The game was played before a poor
crowd.' .The day was coJd and dis
agreeable and the pitchers poM not
?et up a sweat.
Jamison Highly Praised.
Jamison, the La Grande pitcher',
went through the game like a house
afire.
The compilation of batting aver
ages for last week's series showed
Walla Walla up as poor batsmen but
In aolte of that superior fielding won
against Pendleton. Jamison, sow
ever, proved too mucn.

Pendleton, April 30. Boise met
her first reverse of the season yes
terday afternoon when the Pendleton
team celebrated the opening of the
local season by winning a 13 to 6 de
feat It was a cold day and the
pitchers were wild. Chapman was
driven out of the box in the first
inning when the Bucks landed on him
for six straight hits. Finley replaced '
him and fared better only in spots.
Berger was wild but effective iu
pinches and particularly with the
bat He hit out two doubles and a
single, driving in four runs. 'Pendle
ton scored six in the opening inning
but Boise came up from behind un
til in the third she had a total of
four. Here the Bucks commenced
another assault upon Finley and
chasd three more scores. Two more
were added in the fifth and the same
number in the seventh. Boise scored
one run in both the ight hand ninth.
The game was featured by spectacu
lar fielding by Varian, Pendleton cen-
terfielder.
