succeeds the late Rev. Joel C. Walker

died recently in Glasgow. Mr. Mere
dith was pastor of the Enterpr'se
Methodist church two years, resign
ing last fall. He was a member of
the Idaho conference of the Metho
dist church for seven years, and was
Its secretary at the last two annual
meetings, preparing the elaborate
minutes of the session and attending
to much other business. He Is very
well known all through Wallowa
county, having preached or spoken In
every town and In many school
houses. Since his resignation Mr. Meredith
has been taking a little vacatlonfroin
the ministry. He has many warm
friends here who will wish him pros
perity and happiness In bis new field.
