He has held pastorates at Chicago,

Washington. During the last five
years he has occupied the position of
secretary of mission for the Pacific
coast district of the Lutheran church.
During this time he has organized
congregations at Ridgefield, Wash,
Seaside, Ore., Victoria, B, C. and Cen
tralia. Wash. In appreciation of hU
services the board of English home
missions voted Pastor Drann a
month's additional salary and all ex
penses Incurred In connection with
the work. It Is owing to the fart
that file children have become of
school age and would be able to make
little progress In moving from place
to place and Mrs. Drahn found the
work too arduous that Mr. Drahn re
signed his former posltloi,'Both he
and Mrs. Drhhn are delighted with
La Grande and claim they- have not
been disappointed In the many nice
things thai had been said about the
beautiful little city among the hills.
Especially has the : splendid school
system been aa attraction to them in
choosing; a Orande In preference to
Spokane and several cities in the
east that were open to them for pas
torates. The congregation has re
ceived Mr. and Mrs. Drabn with the
kindest hospitality and has already
shown them many kindnesses.
