James A. Bell, who was brought to
the Grande Ronde hospital from the
poor farm, died at the hospital last
night about 9 p. m. He was a resi
dent of Union before going to the
farm and had been at tbe place for
a number of years. He was about
50 years of age and seems to have
no relatives In this country: The
body was burled by the county this
afternoon.

Attendance at school is increasing.
At the present date there are 60 per
cent of the pupils in the schools and
it Is safe to say that within the week
the attendance will be almost up 'to
normal. Some aro kept out of school
on account of having swollen arms
owing to the vaccination. The percent
age of children In the schools will be
about 90 per cent' until contagious
diseases dies out entirely.
