Portland yards and the local butch
ers declare that the .'percentage of

25 per cent. Not many years ago It

herds will make cow meat rather
scarce on the local market
Hogs Are Steady. .
Hogs are holding their own and the

of carrots, turnips and cabbage and

very reasonable figures. Walla Wal-

the merchants there will be vegeta-
bles ou hand lor some time to come,
but the price will be fancy.

The commission men and the mer-
chants of Portland have agreed that
they will allow no frozen fruit oa the
market Thla Is comforting In view
of the faot that the California peoplo
have taken, advantage of the Oregon
Inns In past years, and dumped all
of the worthless etuff on an unsus
pecting people.
Frozen fruit look like non frozen
fruit but the. difference to Juice and
no Juice when the orange is cut.
