Since the Mayor of North Powder

Prosecuting Attorney Ivanhoe the

In reply Colonel Ivanhoe sent the
Governor the following; letter:
Honorable Oswald West, Governor,

My Dear Governor: It is only by
reason of my faith In your personal
sincerity that indi'.r-es me to reply to

copy of the complaint written you by
the mayor of North Powder.
In the case he referred to I was
guilty of doing and saying what I
will repeat, under -'mllar circum

consult the mayor of North, l'owdori
or anyone else. .... .,. .
Not only so. While district attorn

law to be performed by the grand,
Jury. This does not surprise me.
With the highest personal regard,
and the most respectful appreciation
I beg to remain, as always, yours, etc

All Interest In a football way U

I.a Grande squad, having seen both
teams at work, predicts a victory for
lluker over Pendleton by one or pob

he bases his opinion on the showing
of the opponents and not of his own
men. The I.a Graudrrs lost all track
of football In the Baker game
times, and had nowhere nepr the gin

the Pendleton game.
"Fiit." snys the mentor of the lo

will stop the Pendleton backs on "lln

game here knows tuaL. their fak
plays and end runs caft be brokci, ,
up we spilled them for heavy losses
frequently. Hence It follows that
with Baker's line sufficient and
mighty, Pendleton has a hard propo
sition to handle. It should be a
great game."
Touching on this game the Herald
at Baker remarks:
Interest and enthusiasm over the
coming football game Friday be
tween the Baker and Pendleton high
school teams, .the . old rivals, was
never higher among the football en
thusiasts than now. During the week
the management of the high school

A committee of high school stu
dents will visit all the merchants
today in an effort to get all to close
for two hours on Friday afternoon
so that the clerks and owners may
attend the game. The game has
been scheduled for Friday so as to
give the merchants this opportunity.
It Is the custom In Pendleton to go
out to the Baker game and even to
have the band out.
As to the strength of the teams
comparative scores show in Baker's
know that they are going up asi'nit
favor. However, the management
a good team and will feel satisfied
if they can win by a small score.
