The second crop of alfalfa Is now
being cut. The first of the second
crop was cut last week and the great
bulk will be cut and stacked by the
end of the coining week. With the
harvesting of this large yield of bay
the prices of alfalfa are expected to
fall considerably.
The wheat harvest Is on In earnest,
and will continue from now on until
Thanksgiving. Oats, barley and spring
wheat are rapidly ripening and by the
time that the fall wheat Is out of the
way it will be time to commence upon
the other grain.

Frontier Celebration Begins.
Cheyenne, Wyo., Aug. 14: Throngs
of visitors from Denver and the East
arrived In Cheyenne today for the
opening of the sixteenth annual Fron
tier celebration. Fully 5000 people
are guests of the city already and
every train Is crowded to Its utmost
capacity. Many cowboys are In the
city from all parts of Wyoming, and
they, with the Indians In their red and
yellow blankets, are attracting much
attention from the visitors. The fes
tivities will continue until the end of
the week. Among the events on the
programme ar roping and bucking
contests for the world's championship,
shooting competitions, cowboy races.
