The object of this league shall be
to promote amateur baseball, clean
play and wholesome exercise In the
spirit of good fellowship, among the
friends and devotees of baseball and
kindred athletics.
The officers of the league shall be
president, vice president, and secre
tary-treasurer, who, together with one
member representing each club hold
ing membership In the league, shall
constitute the board of managers of
the league. ,
Any citizen of La Grande of ama
teur standing affiliated with any club
In the league Is eligible to office. ' ;
Clubs holding membership in the
league shall provide their own equip
ment, and be responsible for the pay
ment therefore.
All teams belonging to this league
shall represent some line of business
in te city.
Each player must be an 'employer
or employe in the business which his
club " represents unless otherwise
agreed upon by the board of managers.
No game or game shall be postpon
ed without the consent of the presi
dent and the captains of the partici
pating teams.
In case a team is short players,
substitutes from the other teams play
ing In the league may be allowed to
play to fill In vacancies. Substituted
players' must be agreed upon by op
posing managers and no player will
be allowed to. substitute for the same
team more than once.
Any player or players being put
out of the game by the umpire be
cause of conduct unbecoming a gen
tleman and a sportsman shall, upon
the second offense and In the Judg
ment of the board of managers, be
disqualified from further participation
In any of the league games.
The manager of each team repre
sented in the league shall be respon
sible for the eligibility of his players,
and shall report names in writing by
6 p. m. Monday of each week, to the
secretary-treasurer.
