St., Pendleton, Ore., says: Doan's
Kidney Pills are by far the best kid
ney medicine I ever used. I was trou
bled from childhood, by kidney 'coui
plalut. My hands and feet swelled, in
fact, my whole body bloated and I had
a great deal of trouble from the kid
ney secretions. There was a dull pain
in my back and sides and often after
stooping I found It difficult to straight
en. Dizzy spells and headaches were
frequent and my nerves were all un
strung. I rested poorly and on aris
ing in the morning was tired and de
void of ambition. As time passed, my
condition became worse and it would
be hard to fully describe the misery
I endured. , I spent many dollars for
doctors' , treatment and I also tried
remedies of every kind but to no avail
until I procured Down's Kidney Pills.
This preparation restored me to good
health, after visits to hot springs and
treatment of every other kind had fail
ed. I do not hesitate to tell of my
experience and I trust that my state
ment will be the means of helping
other kidney sufferers." .

IMPROVEMENTS
. Improvements add so greatly to the value of a community that their in-
fiuence can hardly be over estimated. The character cf the street and other mu
nicipal improvements denotes the character of the people in the community itself
It makes either a favorable or unfavorable impression on the outsider, depend
ing on the class of work that has been done. La Grande is fortunate in having
had the benefit of a far-sighted and liberal city government, and the support of
generous and progressive property owners. . - ' v ' ; -
f Conriordale Addition has had a liberal share in the improvement appro
priations made by the city in the past year. Las fall it was laid out with con-'
crete sidewalks and curbs, this spring the city water was piped in, this summer
Washington avenue is being paved with asphalt right to the head of the property
and the owners are about to grade and open this fine street all the way to the-,
county road, and this fall the parking spaces are to be set ta grass clover shrubs
and shade trees. The sewers and street lights will come in due order.
There will not be a single raw spot to mar the beauty and symmetry of
this beautiful tract. Wide streets, Uniform building restrictions and a complete
scheme of landscape gardening insure a raid building up of this property as a
home section and its consequent increase .rvalue. , ' -
