The Enterprise Electric company,
at Its annual meeting this month will
formally take over the electric plants
at Wallowa and Lostine. The capi
tal Btock of the company, now $50,000
wiii be increased, probably to $300.
000 authorized, making it the largest
uome corporation in Wallowa county.
New officers will be elected at the
sr.me time. .'.V. C. Sivyer of Spo
Kaiie, it is the present plant, will
be made president and L. M. Simp-
fcon, also of Spokane, will be chosen
vice president. Mr. Simpcon will be
superintendent of the lines.
These important chnages were an
nounced in Enterprise recently by
Mr. Sivyer and mark the merging of
the electric properties of the three
Wallowa county cities Lostine,
Enterprise and Wallowa.
George E. Jacobs of Portland, for
some time has been acquiring these
properties. He took an option on a
controlling interest in the Enterprise
company. Then he bought outright the
electric plant formerly owned by the
Wallowa Merchantile company. He al
so bought the Lostine property.
Mr. Sivyer and .Mr. Simpson came
Into the county last week and looked
over the property. .Mr. Sivyer is heav
ily interested In electric companies at
several places in the northwest and
.Mr. Simpson is an engineer. The re
sult of their negotiations here with
Mr. Jacobs, who accompanied them.
was the purchase by Mr. Sivyer of the
Wallowa and Lostine properties and '
the taking up of the option on Enter- j
pi ise electric stock. ,
As the matter now stands the Wal-
kuva ami Ixistine plants are the per- i
Eonal property of Mr. Sivyer who also f
owns a majority of the stock of the i
Enterprise company. At the re-organ
ization of the latter corporation, Mr.
Sivyer 'will deed to it the Lostine and I
Wallowa property and the consolida
tion vi,: be complete. J

retain an Interest in the Enterprise j

TEo three plants will be united at j
once. Material is on the way, with
which to put np a heavy transmission :
wire from Enterprise through Lostine
to Wallowa. Then the Lostine power
plant will -be discontinued. One of
the two plants at Enterprise and Wal-'
Iowa will be run continuously and
the other will be operated only at
liitl.t when lights are burning.
