. Elgin is going to celebrate the
Fourth of July this year In a way that
will make the whole Eastern Oregon
country thrill with patriotism..
This was the statement made to
day by E. H. Flagg, editor of the Re
corder, who was In: La Grande on
business.
"You know we have Just completed
. only municipal theatre In .the
Btate," continued Mr. Flagg, "and we
want the whole country to come and
see what a building we have as well
as partake of the Elgin hospitality
which Is stamped 18 karat under the
pure food law and. makes good with
that stamp. Everybody In ' Elgin is
n't work on the celebration. Not a
man, woman or child has been over
looked and each has an important
part to perform. There will be every
feature of an old fashioned celebra
tion coupled with many new things.
