ters, some ot which have been espe
cially Imported from Ireland, and dur
ing the regular performance these
clever animals give a very remarkable
exhibition of timber topping, One ef
them, a black horse called "Luckett",
is a thoroughbred raised on the ranch
of the late Lucy Baldwin near Los
Angeles, and. which, with his weight
up, ran a mile in 1:38 over the San-j
ta Anita race track. "Luckett" was
sol a oecause nis temper became so
bad that he refused to face the bat
rier, and was . regarded as absoltuely
useless from every standpoint.; ,
Since he has been acquired by the
Sells-Floto people, however, and un
der the skillful tutelage il , Rhoda
Royal, he has become one of the most
docile horses with the show and jumps
an obstacle nearly seven feet high
with perfect ease. Last winter he won
several prizes in the high jumping
classes at Kansas City, Denver, I0U'
Isville and other, big horse shows.
