at the Waldorf-Astoria tomorrow for
their annual meeting several import
ant mutters will come up in the form
ing of the major racing circuit for tne
light harness horse season of 1912. At
least two applications from now clubs
will be received, the Columbus mat
ter will be threshed out and several
otiher Important subjects will be dis
cussd, Columbus will be welcomed back
to the fold and Lexington probably
will bo taken In, which means that
there will be (no clashes over dates
this your. Indianapolis and Goshen,
which were included in the circuit
last year, will bo dropped, Pittsburg,
which has not hud professional racing
in more than a quarter of a century,
would like ,to see the Grand Circuit
fliers nt Brunei's Island next rail. The
stewards seem to think well of the
proposal and it Is regarded as highly
probable that Pittsburg may be taken
In. Salem. N. 11., which lias In Rock
ingham Park one of the .linest racing
plants in the country, also is expect
ed npply for membership, but as the
racing game has not prospered In
New England lately as in former
enrs It is doubtful If Salem Is al
lotted dates.
Of course Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids,
tho Detroit State Fair association.
North Randall, Fort Erie. Syracuse,
Readvllle and Hartford will remain
as solid as ever and meetings nt
about the same time as last year will
be held. Kalamazoo probably will be
selected to open the circuit, with
Grand Rapids, Detroit and Randall
following In the order named.
