may not be over In this city. The
team is right now resting on its oars
deciding whether or not to ptay one
more game on Thanlrvlng day. but
as y.a no definite answar has been
'reached. The players will not do any
material drilling this week in any
event and if a game is scheduled they
will ivjswne their practces next week.
The unsettled weather Is largely re
sponsible for the Indecision.
Important Game Friday.
Pendleton, Nov, 13. The Yale-Harvard
game of Eastern Oregon, for
such it may be called, wll be played
in Pendleton next Friday afternoon
between the Baker high school and
game opening up the real football
season of 1911.
Baker will come to this city as this
year's champions of Eastern Oregon,
having thus far defeated every team
It opposed In Idaho and having a
standoff with La Grande. .
The Pendleton team, while lacking
real practice during, the past few
weeks, is using every effort to whip
itself into perfect condition, and the
locals promise to make It more Inter
esting to the Baker boys than any
thing they have gone against this sea.

Elaborate plans ar. being made to
entertain a large number of promi
nent Baker citizens who have already
expressed a desire to witness the
game between their champions and
the Pendleton team, whose prowess
to them j this year is an unknown
quantity. .'- ,
A special invitation has also teen
extended to Governor West, who will
be In Baker this week, to attend the
state Woolgrowers' convention, with
the likelihood of his being present.
The annual game between Wash
ington and Oregon universities, which
is scheduled to be played in Portland
the following day, will draw a large
number, of football enthusiasts from
this city, but arrangements have been
made to make special connection at
Umatilla Friday levening by the motor
car, thus allowing an attendance at
both the game In this city Friday
afternoon and the ' larger tame In
Portland the next day.
