Preparation for snow and ice on the

equipped with the arrangment which
is operated from the cab by air, and
is lowered to the rail at a moment's
notice to clean snow and Ice or mud
from the tracks. When the tracks are
cleared the apparatus is raised to a
Bare height. These arrangements were
used to good effect last winter. One of
the main line engines was also equip
ped tnis way last nignt-and it will
work on the Kamela hill where snow
is to be anticipated In a few days.
Snow Plow Under Repairs.
A crew of painters Is working on
the rotary snow nlow In tha round
house this week. The machine has
been put Into running order and much
of it la already painted. The running
sear and fans have yet to be painted
ana thn the whole machine-will be
Jum like new. .Anticipation of early
snow storms Is responsible for the

machine In winter time.
