Ira Cantrell, at one time a'resident
o La Grande, then of Baker and of
late residing in Waterville, near Eu
gene, was killed from injuries receiv
ed in & sawmill yesterday. One leg
was cut off by a drag saw aud before
he could be taten to the hospital he
had died of the shock. No definite an
nouncement of the funeral arrange
ments are contained in telegrams re
ceived by William Cantrell, a brother
living at Hilgard, and Mr. and Mrs.
Adna B. Rogers, relatives of the de
ceased. Mr. Cantrell 1b' survived by a
wife and one child. ; "
Mr. Cantrell was . well known
throughout the county: he was raised
in La Grande and had many friends in
this section.
