Cement and concrete foundation for
the federal building will be completed
this week, barring more rain, affirms
Superintendent A. J. Anderson of Salt
Lake who has charge of the actual
corfstruction. The concrete wall does
not come up to the surface of the soil,
but is topped off with brick and a five iv
foot wall of cut stone carries the walls
to a heignt of five feet above the sur
face. The cut stone is not here but
will' be in time to allow the construc
tion to continue aloirg unretarded. Thi
brick work will commence next week.
The general plan of the building
calls for two entrances, one from the
corner of Fourth and Adams, and one
, from Adams. The Adams avenue en
trance will be the principal one and
landings and steps. The main lobby and
the. postofflce and savings bank are
located on the main floor while the
United 'States land office has four
large rooms on the second floor. Th
civil service rooms and the postofflce
Inspector and the land office agents
each have rooms on that floor, too. -
