Judges and clerks for the special
charter election November 7, wiere
appointed at the regular meeting of
the council Monday night. Charles
Thomas, W. P. Samms and L. B. Payne
will preside ait the ballot box in 'the
city hall for the voters within the city
limits and B. B. Boyd, S. F Pace and
W. E. Taggart will be at the polling
place in the court house for voters out
side the present city limits but resid
ing in the territory proposed to be an
nexed. The proposed extension includes

takes in the west ends of Greenwood,

Circuit Judge KuowLs and the prop
erty reverts back to the company. Mr.
Hopkins, an up-river miner, was the
plaintiff in the case and was Yepre
sented by a Portland attorney. At

ney F. S. Ivanhoe represented the mil
ling company. ,
