University of Oregon, Eugene, Oct. 4.(Speclal) Director Melvin Ogden announces the following provisional list of men for the Glee Club this year: ' First tenors Burns Powell of Port land, Vernon Motschembacher of New burg, Leslie Doble of Portland, Har old Grady of La Grande, and Brooks Dickson of Pendleton. Second tenors Leonard Bratager of Sioux Falls, S. D., Harold QulgUy of Portland, Irwin iRolfe of Eugene, Wal ter ' Fisher of Roseburg, and , Bert Girard of Pendleton.. " First basses Raphael Gelsler of Portland, Earl Fortmilhr of Albany, Homer Morris of Portland, Kenneth Flakier oi roiuttini, ira lvtanvine ot Eugene, and Mr. Giles of Portland. Second basses Jerry Martin of Klamath Falls, Earl Stannard ot Port land, Lloyd Bar&ee of Portland, Ver non Vawter of Medford, Harry Ding of Portland, and Alfred Skei of Mt. Angel. Material was abundant. Besides the 17 old men who reported for duty, about 27 new men made their ap pearance. The greatest scarcity was found among the flrst tenors. Three old men were back and but two new men. showed themselves capable of singing In this section. These were Grady and Dickson. However, both men sing a good A In lyric quality of voice. Burns Powell," who sang first tenor his freshman year has been transferred from the second tenor section to the first again and will as sume the duties 'of the late Thomas Burke, leader for the past two years. Jerry Martin, who formerly sang first bass has been moved to the low bass section. , The club will rehearse four times a week. The- old members of the club will meet in Villard Hall, Tues day at 4 p. m. to run over the old Oregon songs preparatory to singing Wednesday morning at the student assembly.' SOCIAL PURITY LECTURE.
