The executive committei of tha
eastern division of the Oreson T:ath-
ers' association met at the offices of
City Superintendent Churchill at the
high school building yesterday after-
neon to make arrangeftents for th
Institute to be held in this city Novem
ber 27, 2S and 29. The following mem
bers of the executive commut e were
in attendance; President J. A. Church
ill, Eaker; J. D. Stout, city superinten
dent of La Grande, Frank K. Wells,
Pendleton; sup-srint-rinentpf I'matil-
la county; J. F. Smith, Baker count7
superintendent and Prof. Linden Mc
Cullough of this city, secretary of the
association.
Three sections on the sectional work
wre arranged for as follows: Gram
mar grades, three days; high school
grades, one day; Nov. 29 and rural
school One day, Nov. 29. Seven gen
eral sessions were provided for; two
sessions dally morning and afternoon
with an evening meeting, for Nov. 28.
Plenty of good music will be pro
vided .to rest the teachers from tho
work of absorbing it,e subject matter
of the l-ctures. Among the nameB sug
