lull of opportunities, of chances for
, men and women to iake good, and
j the mission of tills league is to spread
tbls doctrine throughout the sta e anil
'nation. It has done so exceedingly
well and will continue to do so. Whlld j
the task 1b a large one, ye: there is
headway being made all of the time
and large sums of money are being
spent annually which are bringing re
sults. Once it was necessary when ft
new country was talked of in the east
to send special representatives to find
out about the facts existing there.
With the Development league Oregon
hopes to lay In the lap of every east
erner a cleancut and concise state
ment of what may be expected on a
visit to the west. It hepes to apeak
truthfully and when the man comes
looking for a home Tie will not be dis
appointed. The work of the league Is
a worthy mission and the entire state
should vigorously support the move
ment. ' - : - ... . -.
The Observer will contain complete
reports of the meeting by a special
representative and it will be worth
anyone's while to keep posted on what
la done at Astoria next week.
