here they came in crowds. By the
noon hour Jlie cool pavilion was well
filled and the Methodist church furn
ished a choir solo and sermon. The
afternoon was spent In strolling, vis
iting, swimming, rowing and resting.
At 4 o'clock Judge Cochran, the fac
tum factotum of the hour and the
place, conducted a song service in
which the hundreds sang with guBto
the hymns and the songs of childhood
days In the far away places of birth.!
In the evening a well-filled audi
torium listened it) the eloquent words
of life from Dr. Seemann of the Pres.
byterlan church which furnished the
chair for the time.
Those who swarmed the cafetria and
who ate noon and evening lunches at
the' park reach into the hundreds. Es
pecially at the noon hour was the
camping facilities well used. The real
object of Riverside park was accom
plished yesterday for It amused and
entertained and was a recreation
ground for many hundred.
Two slight wrecks, slight la the
amount of damage done but quite ex
tensive In the delay to freight. traffic,
occurred yesterday near Perry. En
gine 507 was derailed at Perry about
10 o'clock and the wrecking train was
able to replace it without much trou
ble. Soon af-er-passing Perry a car
of the freight was derailed and this
time the crane had to be put Into use
to straighten the kinks in the tTain.
No. 6 Late Today.
; A third wreck within the two dayV
delayed No. 6 this morning, that traia
arriving three hours and more late.
Slight troubles on the Sandy were re-pnnnsible.-
