here of "The Old Homestead," at the
Steward June 17,
This dear old pastorlal play itself
is by this so familiar to everyone that
any attempt to describe it would be
supererogation. The mere mention
of the names of Joshua Whitcomb, Cy
Prime, Seth Perkins, Aunt Matilda and
Rickety Ann, is sufficient to bring to
mind all of these delightful rural
characters, and at the same time arise
in the background the pictures of the
old farm, the homestead in Swanzey,
Grace Church on Broadway in New
York City, and the aristocratic man
sion of Henry Hopkins, the metropoli
tan merchant and millionaire.
The company this season is prac
tically the same as last, and the pro
duction is said to be perfect in every
detail.
