families to La Grande; regardless of

fine horses and many bands had com

pavements, the course was lined with
spectators, anxious to see the ele
phants and the other animals, - ' the
funny clowns and the gaudy rjders. ;

was well crowded this afternoon with
spectators who witnessed the per.
