New York. April 21. Details have
beea completed for the teteirranhtc
bowling contest between New York,
Chicago, Cleveland, PittBburg, Seattle,
Montreal and Portland. Ore,, for the
Thompson trophy, donated by the
president of the New York Athletic
club. The tournament is to be held
tomorrow and if successful will be
nade an annual affair. '
Teams will consist of five men, with
two substitutes allowed. Each club
will bowl on Its own alleys, which
nust be regulation size. The western
teams will begin bowling at 7 o'clock,
astern time; the middle west teams
at 9 o'clock and the eastern teams at
10 o'clock ;Ts first five frames and
the total Bcore of each game are to be
elegraphed to the dier:t clubs com-
ncting. .' '

only here but all over the west. Of
late there hasten a stronger run of
trains in and out of La Grande indi
cating a speedier return to the normal
conditions that was expected. Re
trenchment of expenses in the round
house and machine shopB Is still the
order all along the Harrlman system,
yet' It la believed this will last but h
month or two longer.
; Repairing Patent Floor.
Belgium blocks, laid In bitumen, are
being used to replace the faulty place,
in the round house floor. The floor In
'bat building has given considerable
trouble, principally because of the

to have to replace the blocks. '
