The real estate market In La Grande
and the valley Is much more active
than many bejleve. Until recsntly real
estate men have been reticent about
giicg out their sales, but now the mar
ket Is so briBk and the changes of
own rship so many that It keeps one
busy to keep track of the deeds and
abstracts that change hands. ' . !
; Besides the transaction mad-e - by
other concerns the La Grande Invest
ment company reports the following
list, which is not complete an several
good sized deals are still pending. .
All of block 120 of Chapman's addi
tion to La Grande, to the Wenaha
Lumber company for a consideration
of $3900. . This. block contains 14 lots
and abuts the O. W. right of way. The
Wenaha Lumber company have im
proved this property by the construc
tion of a large lumber shed and th
pay roll will be considerably augment
ed by the erection or a large ; wool
working establishment In the near fu

Also two ten acre tracts in the Mt
Glen district were sold to J. R. Beddes
for a consideration of $2,000. Mr.
Beddes owned land adjoining these
bids will be .received by the council
of the city of La. Grande, Oregon, for
the construction of 4,965 square yards

5 per cent of the amount of the bid.
The council reserves the right to re

Attention of all contractors Is called
to. the. agreement of Warren Brothers'
company, filed with this city. In ac
cordance with which greement War
ren Brothers company agrees to li
cense all contractors desiring to bid
for the work to lay Wtulithlc pave
ment In accordance with Us patents
and the terms of said agreement.

hope to have the other 240 acres jiil
planted within the next -two weeks.
C. Wilson has purchased the R. A.
Crawford property through this agen
cy. This property Is located on the
northeast corner of Washingtorf ave
nue and Spring street. This property
was secured for a consideration of $2.-
000.00.

and state that they have completed a
