Dissolution of the old council and
installation of the new law makers
will take place next Saturday evening
at a special meeting of the city coun
ell according to a decision" reached
last evening when the present council
met to transact routine business.
Considerable matters of importance
were gone over and a few details will
be cleaned up next Saturday evening,
such as th final report on the peanut,
hot tamale and popcorn license ordl
nances and a few other matters. The
meeting whereat the new councllmen
are to be seated was placed at Satur
day evening on the opinion of City At
torney Cochran who found that while
the trms of the retiring councllmen
expired today, the 16th, the new coun
cllmen could be s eted at any time
hereafter and Saturday was the most
agreeable one to a majority. Coun
oilman Losrsden maintained stoutly
that the meeting Bhould be held next
Monday, according to the charter pro
visions but legal interpretation deem
ed any night after tonight a legal
date.
