expected to write a letter to some
friend in the East or Middle West,
asking them to come to Oregon, Ida
ho or "Washington, during the period
of the low rates westward which will
be In effect from March 10 to April

The special effort on March 1 has
been originated by the publicity de
partment of the Harriman lines . in
the Northwest and from the Portland
headquatrers will go out a great num

' Colonist Day." These folders are to
he Inclosed In the letters written to
Eastern friends. They will tell of the
advantages of living In the West and
