Los Angeles, Oct 11 Because of the belief expressed by leading society women of Southern California that a "vote by every Intelligent woman would be nullified by the votes of fif ty women neither educated nor dec-, ent," the suffragettes in Los Angeles are conspicuously silent today. A res olution adopted by the Southern Cali fornia association, composed of prom inent social leaders to the effect that suffragists taboo, caused expression of the foregoing opinion. Heretofore Los Angeles was about evenly divided on the suffrage question but It is be lieved now that . the antia have the best of the matter.
