Judging of the pure-bred horses on
exhibition at the fair grounds was re
sumed this morning and a large au
dience' of horsemen was present to
hear the scores pointed out. Prof.
Robert Ashby, superintendent of In
stitute work at the Pullman agricul
tural college la doing the Judging and
while he awards his decisions he
points out the reasons therefor. He
gives his scores verbally and the au
dience heard the faults of one entry
and the finer points of another ex
plained in detail. Prof, Ashby is not
only thoroughly posted on horses but
has the happy faculty of making1 his
audience see the scoring points or
the .(aults as the case may be.
