Notice Is hereby given, that; the
Council of the City of La Grande, has
declared the cost of Improving 4th
street, in front of Lots 5, 6 and the
north 25 feet of Lot 7 in Block 97, in
Chaplin's addition to be the -sum of
$U2.04 and that the assessment roll
Is in the hands of the Recorder of the
City for collection. All persons affect
ed by Bald assessments are 'hereby
no'tlfled, that upon making application
to the Recorder, they may take ad
vantage of the benefits of the law by
paying said assessment in five equal
annual installments, bearing interest
at six per cent per annum, the first
instalment being due and payable
within 60 days from the publication of

portion of Jefferson Avenue, la said

the Mayor and City Council of the
City of La Grande, Oregon, until

the purchase of $65,000 improve
ment bonds, the proceeds to be
used for the construction of Bith
ulithic pavement, bonds of the de
nomination of $1000 each, rate 6
per cent per annum to be paid an
nually, maturity ten years from
date thereof, subject to call by the
City Treasurer at any time that
there is money In the Local Im
provement Funds bonds to be paid
