' i Senator Abraham opened his guber natorial campaign three weeks ago at Eugene: Since then he has been at the Astoria Regatta, where he was an officer on the staff of Admiral W. W. Robinson. He spoke at Astoria Satur day night. ' Following , his tour in eastern Oregon, Senator Abraham will speak in the Willamette valley and in Southern Oregon, concluding his tour in Roseburg, the eve of the Primaries. Senator Albert Abraham, candidate tor the Republican nomination for Governor! will speak In La Grande to night in the course 'of. his, campaign through Eastern Oregon. Senator Ab raham will speak on the political is ives of the day especially touching on the "Hughes-Taft-Roosevelt plan." Senator Abraham is making his tunpalgn on the "Hughes-Taft- Roose- telt plan," the plan being an amena Bent to the present Primary Law. Bv this plan, the voters at the Prl maries elect certain committees, the members of which go on the.ballot by petition only. These committees haVe the power to "designate" candidates for office. Candidates so "designated" ire not required to circulate petitions. Bnt any candidate may still go on the ballot by petition, as at present. At his meeting Senator Abraham will explain in detail the Hughes plan. He will also discuss the other issues of the campaign.
