Several cases of dlptheria of ma
lignant type, the death of a little boy
near Bartlett, and the Illness of Dr.
.J. ji, Gilmore at Flora, has caused
considerable alarm and uneasiness lrf

Diphtheria first attacked the family
of Edward Hack near Bartlett, his
little five-year-old son, Charles, dying
Friday night. Mr. Hack Is now 111 of
the same disease. A member' of the
O'Neal family living near is reported
ill, and that family, the Hack home
and the Lafayette Wilson home are all
quarantined.
Dr. T. M. Gilmore of Flora was the
attending physician at the Hack home,
and he has been, stricken with a mild
form of the disease. He Is under quar
antine at his home In Flora. Word
