Avenue, or street, as Buch district, and
in pursuance of a resolution adopted
by said Common Council on the 15th
day of September, 1909, whereby said
Council determined and declared its
intention to improve all that portion
of Adams Avenue, or Street, In said
improvement district as hereinafter
described, by laying thereon maca
dam, the Council will, ten days after
the service of this notice upon the
owners of the property affected and
benefitted by such Improvement, or
der that the above described improve-
l ment be made: that the boundaries of
said district to be so improved are as
follows: All that portion of Adams
Avenue, from the east side of Fourth
street, to the west side of Alder street.

A pair of young people traveling
under the guise of husband and wife,
were taken in tow by the city mar
shal Saturday at the Park mill, where
they were in the employ of the Union
Pine Lumber Co., says the Union
Scout. The woman whose name was
I Alta Smith, hailed from Walla Walla,
j and the man R. O. Wheeler, from the
! Freewater district. The pair had been
together about six weeks and the two-year-old

Smith, located the pair after diligent
search and secured a warrant for
their arrest with the result that both
were arraigned in the justice cout of
Union. The man waived examination
and is held to the circuit court under
a bond of $250. At the time for ar
raigning the woman, her lawful hus

released for lack of prosecution. Af
