Not only does the human eye de
serve to he called the most wonderful
part of the human body "made In the
Image of God", but science regards
It as the crowning work of the Cre
ator and during those six primal days
when He brought a marvelous order'
out of choas and finished the scheme
of the universe by making man. The
most wonderful things In the world
are the most intricate and delicate.
This is true of the eye. It fears
danger more than any other, part of
the body. v
The approach of a speck or dirt Is
guarded against by the quick, Invol
untary closing of the lids.
When, by chance, a foreign parti
cle slips through before the little
gates can be closed, and lodges upon
the sensitive lids or the surface of
the eye itself, what instantaneous
warning is given and how suddenly
do we know that there is a condition
which "calls for immediate relief; or
means unrelenting , pain, until the
stranger has been dislodged! ,
- The eye is as sentimental as it is
delicate. . " - , , - '
, It is the window of the soul, and
in it the moods and passions are clear
ly written. "'. :.
. The poets have sunc about the eye.
the novelists have made It the center
of love, hate, joy, grtef and .desire.
Its matchless mechanism furnishes
a study that requires untold years
to master. The eye Is a thing to
which only superlatives apply. .
' It is the most wonderful, the most
delicate, the most expressive part of
the human body, and in addition is
the most susceptible to Injury and
the most difficult to heal after the
injury has come. ,i It is, therefore,
Belt evident that the eye requires the
most careful treatment that can t e
devised, and that treatment, on ac
count of the delicacy of the organ it
self, should be as tender and as care
ful and as near free from pain es
can be accomplished through appli
cation of medical skill. .
