A big meeting of the farmers' un
ion of Baker County is to be held at
Haines Thursday when State Presi
dent F. A. Silkes of Milton will be
present to address the gathering- Mr
Sikes will arrive on the early train
Thursday morning rd will spend the
forenoon visiting with ranchers who
come in, relates the Baker City Herald
In the afternoon, beginning at one
o'clock an open meeting will be held
at which time Mr. Slkes will address
the ranchers. A short program Is be
ing prepared, which will include an
address - of welcome by Mayor
O'Bryant of Halqes and a talk by
A V. Swift, president of the Paker
county union. All ranchers are urged
to attend at that time, aa the meeting
is one of importance,
